Boxed Bag - for rebreather

Probably the most awkward thing I've tried to make.  Its made from the usual PVC rope bag material, but double thickness panels to sides and rear.  In some areas its 3 layers thick, such as around port openings.  This is to provide some rigidity so that the bag doesn't flex or deform too much under the load of whatever is attaching or passing through the opening.  The layering was done by bonding the extra panels using H-66 glue.  This glue effectively welds the material together.  Once glued, its not coming apart.  Amazing stuff when used on the correct material its intended for.

The heavy duty zip closes up the bag on three sides.  Once opened it gives easy access to the inside to remove the scrubber and breathing bags.  The scrubber is held in position with two velcro straps.  The straps are sewn in onto a webbing strip to further reinforce the structure and provide support for the heavy scrubber.

The base of the bag has a 3mm PVC plastic insert stiffener.  This is to support the weight of the o2 cylinder and stainless bracket mounted on the bottom outside face of the bag.  The cylinder straps are rubberized tree support straps from the local garden centre.  They grip cylinders really well.
