Deepdale Rising - Hagg Gill Pot
Deepdale rising is a resurgence cave that disgorges water from downstream Hagg Gill pot and from up valley river Wharfe via tight rifts in river bed. The work is ongoing and we are involved in removing sand and gravel from the underwater passage leading to Hagg Gill. The purpose being to provide a passable route for a diver to emerge in the terminal sump. The terminal sump starts in Nostromo chamber on the Hagg Gill side of the sumps, which is the furthest dry point when diving downstream Hagg Gill. We are using an airlift with pre installed gas feeds and/or sandbags which are removed with lift bags. The project commenced late 2018.
A full survey can be found in the Northern section sump index published by the Cave Diving Group.
